As an MRI Technologist II at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our imaging team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
Maintains American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
Exhibits leadership skills, acts as a mentor and role model, works with minimal supervision, and can provide direction to the team in the coordinator/managers absence.
Trains and mentors new staff and students. Acts as a lead tech when assigned.
Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
Adheres to MRI safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
Assists and instructs students and other MRI Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
Understands and operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
Minimum Qualifications MRI Tech II ($41.22-63.59/hr)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- IV Certification
- Demonstrate proficiency in three of the following MRI procedures: intra-operative, cardiac, functional, breast, prostate, rectal cancer staging, advanced 3D spectroscopy, MR lymphangiography, or pediatric MRI (less than 15 years of age) as 80% of patient workload.
- Must complete at least five cases per specialty procedure with documented skills pass off by a lead MRI technologist or coordinator.
Preferred Qualifications MRI Tech II
- Three years of experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
Minimum Qualifications MRI Tech I ($37.46-57.80/hr)
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School; or one year minimum related experience and/or training, required
- Current ARRT (R) (MR) or NMTCB registry, required
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
- Ability to interact with people of all ages, required
Preferred Qualifications MRI Tech I
- At least one (1) year of experience as a MRI Technologist, preferred
