South Shore Hospital is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to perform a broad range of diagnostic imaging services with a focus on excellence, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals who are certified and cross-trained in both Radiologic Technology and Computed Tomography (CT).

Essential Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Completion of an Illinois-approved Radiologic Technology training program.
  • ARRT Certification in Radiologic Technology (R) and/or Computed Tomography (CT).
  • IEMA Radiation Licensure (Illinois Emergency Management Agency).
  • CPR certification required.

General Summary:

As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, the Technologist will:

  • Perform radiologic and CT procedures with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Deliver quality imaging services while maintaining patient comfort and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities – CT Technologist:

  • Collaborate with Radiologists on scan protocols, including 3D post-processing and use of tele-radiology systems.
  • Identify and report urgent pathology findings.
  • Conduct equipment quality control (QC) and maintain safe operating standards.
  • Assist with CT documentation, film imaging, and patient transfers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately perform routine and fluoroscopic radiographic exams.
  • Correctly position and identify radiographs.
  • Operate C-arm, PACS, and digital capture systems.
  • Assist in surgical radiology, film processing, CD copying, and clerical duties.
  • Research patient history and explain procedures to patients.

Additional Duties & Expectations:

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and hospital attendance policies.
  • Participate in performance improvement and quality monitoring initiatives.
  • Maintain continuing education and licensure through seminars and professional affiliations.
  • Communicate effectively across departments and adapt imaging parameters as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • At least 2-5 years of experience in radiologic technology and computed tomography.
  • Strong clinical judgment with attention to image quality and patient care.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a hospital healthcare setting.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to continuous learning and excellence.
  • Willingness to work the overnight shift 12am-8am, Tuesday to Saturday.
