Job Description


We are seeking a skilled and dedicated FULL TIME DAY ($40/HR) & FULL TIME NIGHT ($42/HR) CT/X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using equipments such as CT Scan and X-ray, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. The CT/X-ray Technician will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Duties

  • Perform X-ray examinations on patients as per physician orders, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Operate and maintain X-ray equipment, including CT and PET scan machines when necessary.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
  • Position patients correctly to obtain optimal imaging results while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Review images for quality assurance and assist in the diagnostic evaluation process.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to imaging procedures.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of patient care.
  • Stay updated on advancements in radiology technology and best practices.

Experience

  • Certification as an X-ray Technician from an accredited program is required.
  • Previous experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, diagnostic radiology, and urgent care practices is essential.
  • Knowledge of physiology and the ability to perform diagnostic evaluations effectively is highly valued.
  • Experience with advanced imaging technologies such as CT and PET scans is a plus

Essential Job Functions and Dutie

  • Positions x-ray equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance.
  • Uses beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Positions patient on examining table and sets up and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.
  • Processes exposed radiographs using film processors or digital imaging methods.
  • Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
  • The CT-Radiology Technologist will prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms.
  • provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed.
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during scan.
  • The CT-Radiology Technologist will operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination.
  • Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
  • The CT-Radiology Technologist will use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure the safety of patients and team members.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the RAD lead or Facility Administrator.
  • The CT-Radiology Technologist will perform related administrative duties, including completing necessary forms and maintaining procedure logs.
  • The CT-Radiology Technologist will retrieve radiologic orders from and input related data into the electronic medical record.
  • The CT-Radiology Technologist will report the need for radiologic supplies to the  Facility Administrator or RAD lead.
  • The CT-Radiology Technologist will work alongside Facility Administrator and RAD lead to ensure state compliance.
  • The CT-Radiology Technologist will serve as a back-up for clinical team members as needed by controlling patient flow, performing EKG tests, vitals, IV insertion, collecting labs, documenting vital signs in the EMR, and administering contrast.
  • Order and administer IV and oral contrast.
  • Clean and prepare patient examination rooms.
  • Assist RN and physician as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of radiologic safety, cleanliness, and infection control policies and regulations.
  • Knowledge of radiologic equipment uses and maintenance.
  • Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communication – Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Computer Skills – Proficient ability to use a computer and electronic medical record.
  • Confidentiality – Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality. Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Detail Oriented – Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent situations.
  • Flexibility – Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
